Story

Prettysac was founded by two London-based friends Sabine Smouha and Paulette Mizrahi who both had a desire to channel their shared passion of vibrant African colours and fabrics paired with the quintessential practicality of a simple drawstring pouch.
Sabine Smouha is French and was born and raised in Paris. From the age of 21, Sabine had already found her love of Fashion and started a business of haute couture bags and accessories selling in London, Paris and Geneva. Having studied Art History in Paris, her appreciation of beauty and her curiosity of unique objects and soft furnishings led her wandering the streets of London or the flea market in Paris during her free time. Her unique creativity is derived from traditional and contemporary influences which can be seen within the Prettysac designs.
Paulette Mizrahi was born and raised in New York. From an early age, Paulette was greatly influenced by the innate style and beauty of her French mother. Earning a BA in Art History at Northwestern University, a retailing career at Bloomingdales ensued, followed by positions at L’Oreal, Jean Patou, Ines de la Fressange and the Couture House of Christian Lacroix as US Managing Director. Her exposure to Haute Couture as well as fashion and accessories at Lacroix left an indelible imprint on every aspect of her design sensibilities. From the way she dresses, to the art she collects or the way she sets a table, the common denominator is always colour, a mixture of styles and an ability to combine the unexpected.
